On Friday Oct 9th, 2020, Marco Davoli (ESR 8) presented at the faculty of Archeology of Leiden University (NL) his preliminary results on the potential impact of Neanderthals on megafauna distribution during the Last Interglacial. Through literature review, Marco evidenced that, despite being skilled nomadic hunters comparable to early Upper Paleolithic modern humans, Neanderthals meta-populations density limited the impact on megafauna spatially and temporally, allowing ecosystems restoration in few decades.
