The individual training program is on the move! Anastasia Nikulina, Angelina Zapolska and Maria Antonia Serge finally met in France during a full month at Laboratoire des sciences du climat et de l’environnement (CEA/CNRS/UVSQ, IPSL, Université de Paris-Saclay). They work together with Didier Roche to establish synergy between their datasets in the study about the roles of different factors in past vegetation distribution changes in Europe.
It is also the occasion to benefit from the expertise of other colleagues at LSCE on vegetation modelling and landscape-climate interactions and to visit different parts of the lab. The main synergy sought after in this secondment is the comparison between climate-forced vegetation modeling results and the pollen-based REVEALS reconstructions, as well as the search for possible ways of incorporating these datasets into an agent-based model. The outcomes of the collaboration will be presented during the 4th Workshop on Regional Climate Dynamics: CARPATHIAN-BALKAN PALEOSCIENCE WORKSHOP 2021 (CBPW2021) endorsed by PAGES. Looking forward to meeting you there!
