About Me:

Hi! My name is Antonia Matthies and I’m very excited to join the TerraNova Project this March. Originally from Munich, Germany, I completed my undergraduate degree in Physical Geography in the UK in 2018. After graduating, I spent some time working in Hong Kong and then travelling through Mexico, the USA, Japan, and other amazing places. In late 2019, I started my MSc degree at the United Nations Univeristy in Bonn, which I completed at the end of 2021. I’m really interested in scenario modelling and imagining future trajectories for landscapes and resource use. This was the focus of my BSc and MSc thesis, so I’m looking forward to exploring that further in TerraNova. Having recently moved to Amsterdam, I love exploring the city and all it has to offer so I’m excited to get to know everyone in TerraNova and the VU better to make the most of the next 13 months!
